Draft — this page is pending legal review and may change before launch.

CAD Studio Photography ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have. It applies to this website and to the services we provide.

Who we are

CAD Studio Photography (Collection Art Design) is a photography studio based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. You can reach us about privacy at any time through our contact form by choosing Privacy request, or by email at the address shown on our contact page.

Our person responsible for the protection of personal information can be reached through the same channels.

What we collect

We collect only what we need to respond to you and provide our services:

  • Contact enquiries: your name, email address, optional phone number, the type of enquiry and your message.
  • Quotes: your name and contact details, event type, date, duration, location, number of photographers, guest count and the add-ons you select.
  • Bookings: the details above plus venue, event times, notes you give us, your consent choices and the timestamp of that consent.
  • Reviews: the name you choose to display, your rating and review, and your consent to publish it.
  • Payments: we record the deposit amount, payment method (for example bank transfer or cash) and the date it was received. We do not collect or store card numbers on this website.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Why we use it

We use your information to:

  • reply to your enquiries and prepare quotes;
  • schedule, confirm and deliver your booking;
  • send transactional messages about your quote or booking (confirmations, reminders, delivery);
  • publish reviews you have agreed to share;
  • meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We tell you the purpose when we collect information, and we will ask for your consent before using it for any new purpose.

Marketing emails (CASL)

We send marketing emails only if you opt in. The marketing checkbox is never pre-selected, and we record when you gave consent. Every marketing email includes a way to unsubscribe, and we act on unsubscribe requests promptly. Transactional messages about your quote or booking are not marketing and do not require opt-in.

Photographs, portfolio and reviews

We publish photographs, client names or company logos in our portfolio, gallery or website only when we have the client's consent to publish. Reviews are moderated and appear only with the author's consent. You can ask us to remove published content about you at any time.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run this website and our business, and only as needed for that purpose — for example our website host, database provider, email delivery service and image hosting service. These providers must protect your information.

We prefer providers that store data in Canada. Where a provider processes information outside Canada (for example in the United States), it may be subject to the laws of that country.

How long we keep it

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal and tax requirements, then delete or anonymize it.

How we protect it

We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, access controls limited to staff who need the information, and reputable service providers. If a privacy incident creates a risk of serious harm, we will notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

Your rights

You may ask to access the personal information we hold about you, correct it, withdraw your consent, or have it deleted, subject to legal limits. Residents of Québec also have rights under Law 25, including the right to data portability and to be informed of automated decisions. To make a request, use our contact form and choose Privacy request. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada or, in Québec, the Commission d'accès à l'information.

Cookies

This website uses only cookies that are needed for it to work, such as remembering your language and theme. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
